    3. I found the book in a search for "Bell County," but the time was up today (Feb. 6) at 12:45 PST. It had 7 bids, and sold for $58.50. That was a very good price for that book. I saw one in a book store last year for over $70.00. Frances On Fri, 6 Feb 2004 16:57:11 -0800 "glswings" <[email protected]> writes: > Where did you find this on ebay? 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CkB.2ACI/1928 Message Board Post: I am looking for any descendents of Will/William Humphrey b. 1859 in San Antonio and married Mattie Lann after his father was killed in 1876. They soon after moved and settled in Bell county and lived there for about 50 years. Will's sister was Katherine Humphrey who married Lorenzo H. White in Bell county also. Will and Mattie Humphrey had several children, including a sons Will and James G. and possibly a daughter by the name of Minerva or Minnie. Will and Mattie were both still living in Bell county in 1930...and son James G. was 24 and living at home. I have ancestry information for these descendents concerning their parents that I would like to share. The spelling of Humphrey varies from Humphrey/Humphreys/Humphries....

    2. Joe D. Deaver
    3. Just received news that Moffat Cemetery has now been designated a Historical Texas Cemetery. I believe this is only the fifth one so far for Bell County. (Shamefully, I have been working on one for over a year...heh.) Please join me in congratulating these folks for their accomplishment! Our 2002 Moffat Cemetery inventory from Steve is at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/bell/cemetery/moff.txt Joe D. Deaver TXBELL Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbell -----Original Message----- From: Steve Stephens Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2004 4:25 PM Subject: Historical Cemetery News flash!! The Moffat Cemetery located on the North side of highway 36 just East of Lake Belton has now been designated a Historical Texas Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. The Affidavit of Dedication for Cemetery Purposes was filed with the County Clerk in Belton on Tuesday, October 28, 2003. A plaque and medallion will be made and a dedication is being planned for after they are installed. The cemetery has some 1400 plus graves which include veterans from the Civil War, World War I, World war II, Korean War, & Viet Nam War. The oldest marker found is dated in 1861 with many unmarked graves, possibly older. For more information, contact Wm. A. [Steve] Stephens, president, Moffat Cemetery Assn. 14100 Moffat Rd.
