    3. I do see where she was mentioned in our Temple Daily Telegram obit archives: "RAMIREZ, Sarah, 81, Killeen, 10 a.m., Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen. Burial in Killeen City Cemetery." (June 4, 2002 edition) You might also contact someone at the Killeen Daily Herald to see if they have the 2002 obits available: http://www.kdhnews.com/contact.html Joe -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, March 13, 2004 12:53 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [TXBELL] SEARCHING FOR OBIT ON SARAH O. 3. I had Monk's who were in and around Bell county. They married in 1860 in Bell county. William W Monk and Mary Ann Brown. I have had great difficulty connecting them with any other Monk line's. They lived in Brown and Milam counties as well. I am at the Library right now checking my mail because my computer has crashed. As soon as I am back up and running I will get back with you. I did a search of all of our online cemetery archives and did not find the CRUGER name. However, the following two people do show up on the 1860 Bell Co census together in household 550: Cruger, C. P. age 26 male farmer born in New York Cruger, Virginia age 24 female born in Virginia Although we have most of the cemeteries online, there are some we do not. On resource you might try is the local chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. They have a project going to identify all the Confederate burials in Bell County: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tx1250/ Good luck.... Joe D. Deaver http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbell

    3. It has been a long time since I was in the BOONE/Hamlin Cem. near Youngsport, Bell Co. If I remember correctly there are Breedings buried there as I was once asked to check that name when I lived in TX. Go to the Bell co cemetery site , perhaps you will find the ones you are searching for. Good luck, Pat in OK [email protected] wrote: > > I too am researching families in Bell County. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Webster, Beck Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CkB.2ACI/1940 Message Board Post: I'm looking for a Webster great aunt. The daughter of John M. Webster. My grandmother's (Allie Webster Matthews) obituary dated Feb. 1946 says that one of her survivors was a sister, Mrs. Bennie Beck from Killeen, TX. My grandmother had 5 sisters, Lula born 1879 in San Saba Co., TX; Holly born July 1883 in Texas; Margaret who married a man with the last name of Gilliland; Carrie who married a man named Silas Johnson; and Lorena born 1897 in Texas. The obituary doesn't identify which sister (Lula, Holly, or Lorena) married Bennie Beck. It is apparent that one of her sisters was already deceased as the obituary only mentions 4 surviving sisters and I don't know which one was already deceased. It is hoped that there will be someone who knows this family. I have been searching for information for over 14 years now. Thanks for anyone's time spent on this query, donna brand

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Webster, Johnson, Hiner, Beck Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CkB.2ACI/1937 Message Board Post: I'm searching for cousins. I have information to share, and there are things that I need information on with regards to the John M. Webster family. A cousin who knows a little of family history would be a plus here. Not to mention that I would have someone to talk to about this family. As far as I know, so far, I'm the only person researching this family. The family I'm talking about is the John Mitchell Webster born in Feb. 1857 in Arkansas, who married Mary Julia Hine born 1862 in LA, on Oct. 10, 1877 in Lampasas County, Texas. They were migrant workers moving around to several counties in Texas. The counties they lived in were San Saba, Bell, Coryell, Johnson, Denton, Ellis, Palo Pinto, Hill, and probably a few I'm not aware of. They were the parents of 8 children. First was Lula (nickname for Laura) born 1879 in San Saba Co., second was Sarah Allie who was born Feb. 9, 1881 in Bell Co., (this is my grandmother), third was Holly born July 1883 somewhere in Texas, fourth was Ely born Nov. 1885, somewhere in Texas, fifth was Margaret born Dec. 1890 somewhere in Texas, when she was young she married a man with the last name of Gilliland, the sixth child was James Wesley born January 27, 1893 in Johnson County, Texas, he married Martha Hill, the seventh child was Carrie born July 1895 in Texas, she married a Silas Johnson, the eighth child was Lorena born Dec. 1897 somewhere in Texas. My grandmother's obituary indicates that in Feb. of 1946 her sisters, Margaret Gilliland lived in Dublin, Erath County, Texas, and that one of the girls married a man named Bennie Beck and they lived in Killeen, Bell Co., TX, and one of the girls married a Jess Hiner, and they lived in Wapto, Washington (I haven't been able to identify the county in Washington), and one of the girls resided in Portland, Organ. Don't have specifics as to which girls married these men nor do I have specifics on which of the girls lived Portland, Organ I would love to talk to anyone who knows this family. I've been researching them for 11 years and this is most of what I know so far. I'm still trying to find John Mitchell in the 1860 Arkansas census, I don't know his father's name or the county where he was born. I've searched the TX death records and haven't found him listed. Family legend has it that he died about 1910 in Coryell County, but after years of research I've been unable to verify this. I've researched the 1860 census records for Arkansas and he is not in Carroll Co., or Conway County, and I'm still working on the rest with no luck so far. Any help with this family would be very appreciated. donna brand http://users.htcomp.net/donnasdigs Donna's Digs
