C. & Buna (Howard) Wilson, made in 1948, in Rogers, TX. Rogers, TX. is where my Dad, Marvin Samuel Moore was born in 1902. I think Buna Howard-Wilson may have been born in Butler, Choctaw Co., AL., where my grandparents Sylvester Moore and Mary E. Copeland was born, in 1870's. I have an obituary of Buna Howard-Wilson's brother, A.C. Howard that states he was born February 2, 1878 in Butler, AL. Does anyone know if there is a connection to these families? Does anyone know this WILSON or HOWARD family? Please email me [email protected] Thanks, Ada

Has anyone yet been able to help me locate David and Clemetine Smith who may have been buried in the vicinity of Aiken, Texas? AIKEN, TEXAS (Bell County). Aiken was a mill and farming community on the Leon River twelve miles northeast of Belton in northwest Bell County. A steam saw and flour mill was constructed on the site by Abner Kuykendall in 1857, and a settlement grew up around it, on land owned by Herman Aiken.qv By 1860 Aiken was a thriving community with an estimated 200 inhabitants. During the Civil Warqv the population of 600 produced a number of goods formerly imported; the town supported a cabinet shop, a tanyard, a shoe and saddle shop, a hat factory, a Confederate distillery, and wood and blacksmith shops for the manufacture and repair of wagons. Aiken had a post office from 1868 to 1872. The town seems to have declined in the later nineteenth century; it was not shown on the state highway map of 1948. The townsite was inundated by Belton Lake in the 1950s. Surnames: Williams, Ferguson, Robinson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CkB.2ACI/1992.3 Message Board Post: I am looking for any information on Alice Cora Williams, whose family arrived in Bell County in 1883 from Alabama. According to information I have, she was born in 1871. At some point after arrival in Bell County, she married a man named Cox, I have the initials J.M. but I am not certain about the accuracy of that info. They had two children named Robbie and Frank. I do not know when Robbie was born, but Frank was born in 1894 and died in 1896. He is buried next to his grandmother in the Dallas Cemetery near Holland. Robbie may be a nickname for Robert. At some point, Alice Cora Cox was either widowed or divorced. An obituary of her brother written in 1935, lists her as a survivor living in Cameron, Texas. She was listed as Mrs. J.O. Hightower. I have been unsuccessful in locating her in any census record after 1880, or a marriage record for either marriage. I hope you might locate a Cox - Williams marriage record, and perhaps a death record for Cox. Larry Wilson
