Tammy: I have not seen the actual deeds yet; didn't have time at the library today. Later this week we should be able to obtain them; they appear to be on microfilm in the state library in Austin. I'm kind of amazed they might not identify the place, either, though! Thanks very much for the map; it's a great lead! The 1870 and 1880 censuses are high on the list for this weekend, too. I'll let you know what we find! My supervisor at work knows about that great stuff you guys have in your genweb archives - she spent all afternoon staring at them!
