Tonie Elizabeth Hemphill was born 10/22/1856 and is the daughter of Cornelius Murphy Hemphill and Elizabeth Snoddy, (Cornelius is brother of William Augustus Hemphill) making Tonie the step-cousin of Lavina. I have another Toni Hemphill b. 1883 m. George McDonald, dau of Wade Charles Hemphill and Cuba Hemphill. The L. R. could be Lafayette and Rogers as Lafayette runs in the family and they also seem to name the kids for their friends. Marcus and Zeno (brothers of William and Cornelius) married Rogers girls. Just a thought. I am from the other Hemphill family in the area, living in Red Rock/Bateman area.
