    3. Ernest D (David, we think) Williams, son of David C. Williams and Ellen Jane Walters, was my grandfather. He married Myrtle Lee Miller in San Antonio, Bexar County, TX. Ernest & Myrtle lived in San Saba and Austin before they separated around 1928. My grandmother refused to speak of her husband to her children, so we have very little to go on. Ernest died in Austin, Travis County, TX, on 11/22/1960, and the death certificate indicates that his body was taken to Cook Funeral Home in Bastrop. There is an Ernest L Williams buried at Alum Creek, and I suspect that this could possibly be Ernest D. His mother, Ellen Jane (Walters) Williams, divorced and is said to have married to a Perkins, a Clardy and another Perkins and had other children. She is buried in Alum Creek Cemetery in Bastrop (with only a rock at her head) next to Aaron Eal, Aaron P and Myrtle Perkins, according to information we found at the Bastrop courthouse and to a Francis (?) Perkins my father spoke with several years ago. She is not shown on the Alum Creek Cemetery listing on the internet. We have also been told that she may have come to Texas from Missouri after having been adopted, and that she was of Native American Indian descent. Her name prior to adoption might have been Grey or Gray. Mrs. Perkins was very hesitant to speak of Ernest, which of course leads us to suspect he wasn't such a wonderful guy! Good or bad, we'd still like to learn about Ernest, his parents, and siblings. Hope someone in Bastrop knows something and will be more willing to share. Sincerely, Dena Stripling San Antonio __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. http://shopping.yahoo.com/
