    2. The following are recent uploads to the Bastrop County page: 2 files submitted by Diane Bender: Extractions from many CSA pension applications: Main site, military, CSA records, Pensions Wonderful petition about Chambliss and Foreman desiring to be released from service due to deaths of wives' from measles and leaving little children, listing many Bastrop names. Shows the closeness of this community, in my opinion. Located on the pension bulletin board: main page, link to pensions, Chambliss/Foreman post I have begun to transcribe the 1860 census. The images were large and still hard to read so I'm trying to get it typed up and posted and not continue with the images. This way it's searchable also. I've put what I have so far and am adding the family names to the head of household list I had. I also have to go back to the beginning of the file and check the spelling of the names I've already done. If you see some names that are spelled wrong, please let me know. I'm up to the Serbin (Now Lee Co area) area that had John Killian and his followers. I happen to have a book (thanks to ebay and Lisa) that lists most of these people so I can add a little more info then what the census asked for. >From main page, link to census, 1860 census link And for something neat to watch, go to the RootsLady's site and watch her slideshows. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txsabine/burials/index_1.htm http://lest-we-forget.rootsweb.com/cemetery/index.htm It is suggested that if your computer is slow, go to the page, go do something else for a little while, then come back and start the slides. This way it is all loaded up and ready to go and will go faster.
