I am Jochim Schroeder's 2g Grandson. I seems that most of the Schroeders in Austin Co. are related. My great aunt, Joachim's Great Granddaughter said that Christian was Joachim's brother. She's 90 years old but still has a sharp mind. I have not had a chance to find anything in writing that will substantiate the relationship like a death certificate or obit. According to Christina Schroeder Ladig's death cert. their father's name was George Schroeder and their mother's name was Mekalene Samenkount. I don't believe that they came over from Germany.
