    1. [TXAUSTIN] VERM Family Austin Co. TX
    2. Richard Garza
    3. Hi Penny, Just a novice but I've got a few questions for you. Have you posted the same message on some of the German lists/boards? Did you do a search on "Heinrich" Verm? Bremen was also a popular point for departure from Europe for folks from the Austrian Empire, have you done a search on the VERM name and possible variations (try some of the genealogy lists in Germany .de)? As well as the fact that his folks could have gone to Bremen from the interiro, lived there awhile to gather enough money to ship out, and then got on board. VERMs in Austin Co. Columbus/Sealy/Eagle Lake phone book shows 4 Verms listed: Brooks, Cecil L., Charles & Patsy, Zenith & Esther. With a forebear like Fortunate Independence Verm, I'd talk to Zenith first. With the info you've supplied, I note he was a citizen of the republic. What specific data were you able to get from the state records on Henry/Heinrich? 1. [TXAUSTIN] Hinsons on 1880 Census
    2. David & Karen
    3. I am looking for records of my G grandparents arrival to Texas. They came by wagon train from NC about 1885-1880. James M.Hinson and Elizabeth J.Hinson. They had three daughters, Dell,Minnie Violette, and Eva Samantha Hinson. They may have been associated later with a Dr.A.B. Gardner, who lived in Bellville around 1910. I do not have acess to any type of records there and wondered if the was an historical society or if any listers would have census or any type of records that they could advise me whether it mentions these people. Thank You, Karen Kerr Researching: Kerr,Campbell,Gardner,Hinson,Hudson,Parker,Patrick,Thrawl,Crenshaw,Killebrew,Wilson,Lewis,McCartney,Moore, and Zarazua.

    3. Trying every avenue, huh Steve. This list has been pretty quiet. Yours is the first message I've seen since I signed up. I thought this would be an interesting list since Austin County had such an interesting mix of immigrants. Hopefully some of the list members will reply and share the names they are researching. Lost my database a couple of months ago but I had a whole slew of Czech and German names in this county. Sharing. It's What It's All About! 3. Hello Everyone, I had a Grandfather "George Hodgkinson" who died in Texas. Probably in Austin. I think that's where he lived. His first wife was Amelia. He had a second wife, I didn't know her or her name. I was told they adopted a few children. I don't know how many. His first son is my Father. His name is also George (Edgar) Hodgkinson. He lives in Florida. Orlando I believe. Married to a woman named Sally. Would anyone have any info on either "Georges". George Sr. born Aug 27, 1901 Texas. Died May 1971 Texas. I got this info from the Family Tree Social Security CD. I can't be positive this is even him. I can't find my father to ask him. George Edgar Hodgkinson (my father) born Nov 20, 1927 (or close to it) Thank You for any information, AbbieM
