My primary Austin Co. surnames of interest are: BOESCHE, BUESCHER, DOHMANN, DORBRITZ, FRANKE, KUENSTLER, MÜLLER/MILLER, ZAHN These are all from the Industry/New Ulm and other nearby towns in Austin Co. Joachim and Christian may be related, but I haven't found anything to back that up. Carolyn Grube is also working on the lineage for the Grubes and the Schroeder. She has a querry on the Surname Helper for Austin County dated May 2, 2000. I received a lot of the information on the Schroeders from her, but only the Joachim Schroeder side. Do you have any information on Joachim's parents and beyond? I feel our families are tied together up the line in Germany. I can't find anything on Christian's parents. Christian and Joachim are both buried in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery outside of Bellville. My family, starting with Christian is as follows: Christian married Marie Goldberg in Prussia. They had one child name Carl in Prussia before the immigrated to the US. They and two more children, August and Carolina (called Lena) in Cat Spring. Carl married Minna Luhn and had one child name Clara. August married Emma Lahrmann and had seven children. They were Alfred, Augusta, Anita, Leslie, Leola, Eleanor, and Edgar. Leslie is my dad. Carolina married a Mr. Zachers or Zachas. They had no children. I will be glad to share infomation if you think it is worth it. I am also researching the Schroeder lineage. My part of the Schroeder came to Texas in 1872 and settled in Cat Spring. A lot of the names of the children are same as some of the ones you mentioned in your lineage. You don't suppose they are related. My relatives came from the Mecklinberg Schwerin area. My great grand father's name was Christian Schroeder and he was listed in the 1980 census as a day laborer. I have heard of County Poor Farms, but the only one I have ever seen was in New Hampton, Iowa. It was a facility that cared for and provided a home for the elderly indigents. (Bellville) and prior to that Perlberg/Wilsnak Prussia. I know that Christian/Sophia are her ggrandparents and William or John Fritz must be her grandfather as her mother (also named Sophie) was a Krueger who married Theodore Nelius. I am seeking information on my wife's ancestors, the REINECKE and MARESCH families of Austin Co., TX. They came to Texas from Prussia/Austria in the 1850s to 1860s. As best we can tell, they settled in New Ulm and Industry, TX, according to the 1870 Census. They were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg (in Colorado Co.), and while we can obtain microfilmed church records from church archival headquarters in Chicago, we are interested in whatever information exists. COOK. Born approxiamately 1837, possibly in Austin Co. Going by notes left by my grandmother, Susan was married 3 times, all in the Sealy area. First to a Mr. ELLIOTT. He was a surveyor and died of typhoid fever before their first anniversary. Second, to a Robert Powell WHITE. She had two daughters, Anna L. and Louisa, born in San Felipe, by him before he died. She then ran a boarding house in the area, and which is where my gg grandfather Patrick CONNOR met her and became her third husband. They had a daughter Katherine Vada CONNOR b. 27 Jan 1867 in Sealy. Patrick died when Katherine was 3 years old. Susan packed up her 3 daughters and removed to Danbury, Fairfield County, CT. Does anyone have connections to any of these people?

They were in Texas before 1835. Caroline had a sister named Mary Ann who married Wiley HARRISON and they had four children, one named Thomas. Caroline married James ERVIN 10 Dec 1840 in Austin County. There was a Thomas Harrison who was killed and his uncle, James Ervin, caught the people who killed him. James soon died after falling (or being pushed) overboard a boat. Can anyone verify these are the same. Anyone researching these families or anyone with knowledge of these facts, please contact me.
