I have no Gragert surnames in my line. My family did settle in Austin County in the Cat Spring area as well as Waller County. I will keep Gragert in mind when I am searching my lines which are Waak, Koeppen, Kitzmann.

Patterson 1822-1906 and Elma F. Patterson 1832-1908. They are buried in Concord cemetery which is located in Kenney. Next to them or near by is Dr. Buell Eastman 1807-1870 and Elvira C. Eastman 1808-1898. I do not find their marriage listed in the marriage records of Austin Co. It is possible that the license was purchased in Washington Co., TX.

You had better get as much information from your Great Aunt as you can. Unfortunately, none of my aunts and uncles are living to get the information from. As I stated in the querry on the Lahrmans, most of the information I have comes from the family bible, talking to cousins, and visiting graves sites. There are things that are puzzling at the family burial sites. In Christian's site, there are infants buried there that were never mentioned in any of the conversations that I remember. One was Bertha. She died at the age of three months. The other was Edwin. He died at the age of one year. Sounds to me like we are getting closer to making a connect. Hope that will happen in the near future. This stuff is kind of addicting, isn't it? I almost forgot, I will be glad to share information with you. Les

Sounds like we might have some connections on both sides of my Schroeder lineage. Most of the information that I have comes from the family bible, cousins and visiting cemeteries in Austin County. I do have all the birth dates of the Lahrman children and the birth dates of the Schroeder children. I also have birth places of Anna Schumacher, Wilhelm Lahrman, and Christian, that are written in the bible if you are interested. They are very hard to read. Can't tell a n from a u. When you speak of John and Anna, are they parents of Wilhelm and Dorthea? Where do you live Wayne? I live in Texas City, a couple of hours from Bellville. My GGgrandfather Heinrich (Henry) Ottmer married Wilhelm's sister Dorthea (Dora). According to my information their parents names were John and Anna. Both from Prussia, no suprise there. I too have had problems making connections back to Germany but there is a new LDS center about 2 miles from my house. I expect to be spending some time there in the near future. My great aunt (his greatgranddaughter) said that Christian and Joachim were brothers. However, I have not found any records to link them (death certs or obits). According to Christina Schroeder Ladig's death cert., their parents were George Schroeder and Mekalene Samenkount. I was in the library in Columbus, TX and found some microfilm from Trinity Lutheran Church in Freilsburg, Colorado Co., Texas. There was an entry for the baptism of Minna and Henry. Following this entry was one for Heinrich Rath's family. According to another aunt that grew up in New Ulm, Austin Co., Rath is pronounced Rott. According to both the church records and census records, they were living in San Bernard, Colorado Co., TX which is just down the road from New Ulm. I am Jochim Schroeder's 2g Grandson. I seems that most of the Schroeders in Austin Co. are related. My great aunt, Joachim's Great Granddaughter said that Christian was Joachim's brother. She's 90 years old but still has a sharp mind. I have not had a chance to find anything in writing that will substantiate the relationship like a death certificate or obit. I don't have any information on Mary Marie Behrens but I do have two Behrens girls in my database: Hulda Behrens (1893-1967) married Alfred Friedrich Diebel in 1911 Melanie Behrens (1896-1967) married Adolph C. Diebel in 1913 Hulda & Melanie were sisters. Alfred & Adolph were brothers. Alfred & Adolph were born in Meyersville, DeWitt Co. I'm not sure where the Behrens girls were from or where they were married. However, a number of families from the Industry-New Ulm-Frelsburg-Welcome-etc. area of Colorado & Austin Counties relocated to the Ander-Weser-Weesatche area of Goliad County and Meyersville-Arneckeville area of DeWitt County in the 1870's. So, while I don't have any evidence of a link between these two Behrens girls and your Mary Marie Behrens, it might bear some further research.
