I know what you mean. My father's birth was not reported to the state until he was sixteen and needed a birth certificate to get into the Army. From what I understand, no one bothered reporting births until they had to. Dad's youngest brother didn't report his birth until he was in his 20s and he was born in 1935! Of course, that WAS out in the boonies and I'm talking about an extremely poor sharecropper family during the depression. Gina "David W.
