David, RE: Milam Co., TX., Brushdale Cemetery. http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/milam/cemetery/brushdale.txt I sent an earlier note but it disappeared and I don't find it in sent mail. Isn't possible that Gail Kennedy, the submitter, might have obtained the plot map and data from the cemetery office? Then personally surveyed a small portion just to include her relatives. I will bet that Mr. Holder, author of the book did not ask permission from the relatives of the loved one who are buried there. He owns the copyright on his book, but not the tombstones or admission to the cemetery. This appears to be a third party complaint, not coming from the dau. of Mr. Holder, just my own opinion from what I read. However, I am sure Ms. Holder will hear about it. I hesitate to pull the file because not hearing back from Gail Kennedy we don't know how she obtained the data. Let me know what to do. lolawithrow@yahoo.com Lola Withrow North Central TX: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tx/ncentral.htm _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? A few times I have uploaded cemeteries into Fannin or Grayson Co.'s and then received demands to remove it immediately! Every word of the work was mine, and I had both the notebooks of my handwritten notes as well as pictures etc. In fact I had added info like middle names and maiden names when I knew these for sure as well as notes on unmarked graves. People still claim it was their work or their relatives etc. Right now there is a lady who wants to sue a relative if she submits the info that is on some tombstones to the Tombstone Transcription Project. I have explained to her the information on the tombstone is not 'owned' by anyone, Any one viewing the tombstone can write it down. Just like they could a street sign name and make a list. Most of the complainers are blowing hot air! It is such a selfish thing.
