Gee, Darren, a decision hadn't been made yet. We were just discussing it. Would not a compromise be to put a link to the ftp page for Births 1926-1949 (and other groups) help for the Archives File Managers who have multiple counties. An example of this is the Pecos County Page http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tx/pecos/pecotoc.htm This would get people to the ftp directories so that they could find the files but relieve the Archivist from a great deal of time putting links to all the files. I know from talking to Larry that the biggest amount of time is spent putting all the URLs into the emails to send to the Archives list. I am only Archivist for two counties so it is not a problem for me but I can understand how it would be for Darren. I personally like to bring up the file and copy the URL to the TOC so that there is not as much room for error but then with only two counties that is not a problem. Chuck - I already have Coke and Smith counties in the TOC - thanks so much for putting the 1969 & 1970 Death Records up! We just need to find ways to work together to conserve our time so that we can get more records up on the web - but we also need to realize that they needs to be some reference in the TOC so that folks can find them. A special thanks to all of you who have spent so much time on the Vital Statistics Project. I think it is one of the finest things that has ever been put on the web.
