IF you do a search on the histories in the National Archives for the county you have it will bring them up. I did this a long time ago and made a list of the ones in Coke Co. I am now downloading the files and will put them in the Coke Co Archives - then link to them from the list page. I didn't find any for Smith Co - sorry about that! I have found that we can download those files from WPA Life Histories from Texas: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/txcat.html on that page, click on LIST on top-left side of page and it will list 445 files, after that list, click Next at bottom of each list. I found that sometimes the county the interviewer lived in was prominently noted, but you had to read the text to find which county the subject was from. Also some stories state the subject was born and raised in one county, but moved to another county where they spend most of their adult life. Gene - The 1948 births come up alright for me. However the 1947 don't.
