Rachel's parents where Enoch and Martha A. Abernathy. Enoch came from Alabama through Mississippi in 1868/69 to Texas. Actually, Enoch stayed in MS for a few years before moving to Texas. He died in 1896 and is buried in Ebenezer Cemetery outside of Gibtown, Texas (Jack County). There were other Holmans in the area who I've not been able to connect with.
