Hi ya'll, I was going through my miscellaneous papers file and found a Widow's Application for Pension, originally filed in Mills Co., Texas on Sept. 2, 1909. It concerns a Wm. H. Thompson, private, Co. K, 2nd South Carolina Calvary, Confederate States Army.--enlisted June 6, 1861. One document in the batch states that Wm. H. Thompson was discharged on account of sickness in Va. given at Richmond, Va.,Nov.20, 1861. Other documents include an Application for Mortuary Warrant which states that Miss Willie Thompson, daughter of Mrs. Wm. H. Thompson (Mamie Lacy Thompson) is responsible for paying all accounts of the late Mrs. Wh. H. Thompson. --A Justice of the Peace held an inquest over Mrs. Wm. H. Thompson's body on August 9, 1935 and found the cause of her death was cardiac decompensation. (Dallas County, Texas). Any of this sound familiar to anyone??? http://jabe_fincher.tripod.com/JFincher/ Jabe Fincher--Pensacola, Florida
