Pleasant Turner married Sarah Jane Crawford 25 December 1861 in Angelina County, Texas and dropped from this earth! Need help in finding what happened to Pleasant and Sarah. Did they have children? Mary A. Elizabeth Turner (sister of Pleasant) married September 1868 in Angelina County, Texas to William R. Crawford (was he the brother of Sarah Jane?). William R. and Mary A. are on the 1870 Trinity County, Texas census with a 2 year old daughter, Sarah. What happened to this family? Did Mary A. died and William remarry? There is a William Crawford marriage in 1872 to a Sarah Rushing. Is this the same William? There are 3 Crawford children living with their grandmother in Angelina County, Texas for the 1880 census. Are these the children of Willian and these two wives? Will gladly share and appreciate any help. Betty

Hello, I am interested in the Crawford's that lived in Angelina County, Texas in the 1860 - 1880 time frame. Also the Turner's. I would be interested in knowing what you have on these and will gladly share all that I have on them. Betty
Thank you so much Pat. When I find the time (I have 3 young children), I want to go to the Fort Worth Library to see what their genealogy section is like. Thanks again for helping me.
Any information may help. If I have to research census records, I always go to Clayton Library in Houston, TX. They have wonderful genealogy research tools. Even Lufkin library in Angelina Co. has a lot of records. We'll find something.
I really appreciate it. I don't know for sure when they left Texas to go to Oklahoma. William David Coats died 1914 in Ryan, OK. I believe it is between 1900 and 1914. That is what I have narrowed it down too. The last child of William David Coats (Dub Coats) was born in 1899 in Falls County, Texas. Most census that I have come across are not online. Any information would be appreciated it. Thank you. Shar Coats Baumgardner
Will start looking through my records. May take awhile. If I don't find anything, will check with other Coats family lines. If still no luck, will have to start checking TX census records. Do you know about when your William moved away from TX?
That is okay. I have recently moved, so I have been plenty busy. My Coats line is the following: William "Will" David COATS b.10/24/1858 in Henderson, Texas d. 1/29/1914 in Ryan, OK married Fannie Brent DEGGES on 9/25/1878. Children: Lottie COATS, R.L. COATS (my great grandfather), Fred COATS, Dub COATS, Theodore COATS, Curtis COATS. I can not find any information on William David COATS. Its hard in the fact since it is a William. I do not know who his parents or siblings are. If you have any information, it would be great. Thanks, Shar
Hi Jim, I noticed your mention of Ransom Chandler, and a lady that I use to correspond with was a descendant - Johnnie Blair Deen. Is your Chandler also connected to the Martin Parmer/Palmer family in any way? Sorry I never responded earlier, I don't remember ever getting your message??? I can go back a ways on my Coats line, but my line in TX came in the earlier 1800's and settled in the Nacogdoches Co., TX. area. A lot of them are still there. I also have 2 aunts by marriage that are from a Coats line in Nacogdoches Co. My grandmother was Sula Jane Coats. Her parents were Robert Coats and Lucy Jane Parrish. Robert's parents were Charles Madison Coats and Lucy Christopher. I don't know if that helps you or not. What Coats line are you looking for?? Maybe I have information or can find it for you. Let me know.
I am not sure about relations that far back. I have only traced back to my ggggrandfather. But I will keep this in mind while I continue my research. Thank you.

I am seeking info about a man named Henry Travis Martin that was a Baptist preacher in the Pollok area during the 1800's, probably around 1870. Wife's name unknown. One of his daughters, Elizabeth, married James W. (Jim) Johnson. Specifically interested in learning the name of the church where he preached.
