Hello Jeanette, This is Sandra Griffin Gilliam from Conroe, Tx. We have communicated before about the ROBERTSONS. GEORGE A. ROBERTSON who married ROANNA WILLINGHAM and came to Bethal, Anderson Co. around l853 is my ggggrandfather. His granddaughter Amanda Francis Cook Griffin was my ggrandmother. I am interested in Ansalem Robertson. In some way they most be related. Either brothers or Uncle and nephew. Since Ansalem's father was Carrington Wheelis Robertson, have you found any relationship between the Carringtons or the Wheelises? GEORGE with his birthday 1813 is right in the middle of Ansalem b.l820 and CARRINGTON b. l795. I also find it interesting that both ANSALEM AND GEORGE had sons named HENRY. I know you have probably researched this out already, but would like to know what your thoughts are on my ideas. Thank you, Sandra
If there is any connection between Ansalem Robertson who settled in NW Anderson County and the Robertsons who settled in the NE section of the county it will be a great surprise to me. Ansalem who came to Anderson County was the son of Carrington Wheelis Robertson and Lucy Garland. The greater coincidence is that Ansalem settled at Bethel, Texas in the NW end of the county whereas George settled in the NE end of the county and is buried at Old Bethel Cemetery. Ansalem is buried in an unmarked grave at Bethel Cemetery on US Hwy 287 in the NW end of the county -- two totally different cemeteries. I agree that it is almost hard to believe that they are not connected in some way, but I have never found it and would be anxious to hear from anyone who has.
