    1. Railroads and medical care in Palestine in 1895
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: FRY ; LOHMANN ;MITCHELL ; RODELL; STRANGE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XiB.2ACI/1616 Message Board Post: My LOHMANN Grandparents lived in Freestone County in 1895. They lived on a "ranch" adjacent to the Trinity River. Emma Lohmann took three of her children back to Kansas Citry, MO, in 1895. I have two basic questions which I hope someone can help me answer. 1. It seems as if they would travel by rail to get to Kansas City. I believe that there was no railroad in Freestone County. Could they catch a train in Palestine to travel to and from Kansas City in mid 1895? 2. Mrs. A. S. F. Lohmann (Emma) became ill and died in August 1895. Would she come to Palestine to get medical attention rather than going to Fairfield? Was she buried in Palestine? John Lohman San Antonio, Texas
