I think you ment to say "by 1870" rather than "1970". There appears to be little information available in Freestone County. I remember my father pointing out the road to Tennesee Colony in the late 1930's and implying that that the town had something to do with the location of his family. The property owned by my grandfather, August Lohmann, was across the Trinity River and was known as the Evans Ranch. Thanks again. John Lohman
