    3. where is this town in Texas? it is mentioned as the birthplace of a relative in the 1920 census, and there is either another word or an extension of Goff after it. the enumerator wrote Texas supercased over the second part, and I can't make it out. Rootsweb's town search thingy doesn't bring a Goff, TX up. thanks for your help. Cornelia

    3. many thanks for this. although it doesn't help me decifer the word after Goff, it helps me to understand the community my family lived in. it was an interesting read for me, having only been a traveler through TX as a child and not knowing very much about the state itself, much less the areas I now have found my ancestor and their relatives to have lived in.
