The oldest daughter of Martha and Robert Montgomery, Sarah Elizabeth "Bettie" married my great great uncle, Robert Martin McNeely. Interestingly, your Robert and wife Martha are found living next door to Robert Martin McNeely's uncle, Thomas G. McNeely (and his mother, Ellender) in Anderson County in 1860. In 1870 in Ellis County, they are living one household away from Thomas G. McNeely and his wife Rhoda Bobo McNeely. Makes me wonder if there is more of a connection than is readily apparent. I visit the cemetery (Sycamore Cemetery in Wise County, Texas) where Robert Martin McNeely and wife Sarah Elizabeth Montgomery are buried at least once a year.
