interesting thought. no, the only land records I've worked with are the headrights at Austin. no. my branch of the Collins family (the early patriarchal line of the McDonalds) headed for California abt 1851, and to the best of my knowledge we haven't been back-though I cringe to think we used to drive through the "shoulders" and pan handle of Texas on vacation when I was a kid, and never knew we weren't so very far away from my maternal ancestral home. now I'm in southern Oregon, and it may as well be the other side of the planet. I'd love to visit...when the humidity's down, though. my system never could handle that.
