I may be trying to find info on the same family that you mention here. As close as I can figure, the Joseph S. Middleton that appears to be a brother of Nathaniel S. Middleton on the 1850 Anderson, Texas census could be my grgrgrandfather. The family info I have is scarce. Only have been told that grgrgrandmother was "Minervy" and her husband was of course a Middleton. They were from Texas. I found a listing for a marriage of a Minerva Bullock and Joseph S. Middleton in San Augustine, Texas 1/2/1861. I also found Joseph S. (b. abt 1838) proper age on the census with Nathanial and John Middleton and the Mary Luce family. Since you say you have a list of the sibs of Nathaniel S. I wonder if you could check and see if you have Joseph S. on the list. The 1850 census looks like John could be an older brother to Joseph and Nathaniel. Maybe they were all sons of Joseph S.?? Could they have been born before his marriage to Mary Ann Luce? I could sure use some help on this one!!
