Sherry, I am interested in your HENDERSONs who were in Anderson Co. TX in 1857. Do you know if they migrated from SC? I am trying to find the maiden name of Elizabeth, b 1831 SC., the wife of Ira Griffin HAMILTON of Pickens Co. SC. They arrived in Anderson Co. about 1857, with two children Wm I. & Sarah Jane. They lived at Brushy Creek for many years, and died in Anderson Co. after 1880 (no record yet) Family stories say that Elizabeth's mother was a HENDERSON (Anna or Elizabeth), married to a CANSLER in SC. I am hoping some SC CANSLERS and HENDERSONS came to TX with my HAMILTON family & their data will give me clues to help me with the SC records, which are giving me fits. [Births & deaths were not officially recorded there until 1911--also early marriages are found in newspaper clippings--sometimes.
