I did not find a record of marriage for Dennison and Ella....google Illinois State Archives. The 1850 record is 1st census for which all persons in a household are listed. 14 Nov 1850; Census Place: Pleasant, La Porte, Indiana; Roll: M432_157; Page: 239; Image: 478 William Brunson, 30, born NY Margaret, 27, VA Jane, 4, IN Hepsera, female, 1, IN Dennison, 11, IN Mary, 8, IN ..next household John Brunson, 26, OH Almira, 24, Canada Alice Smith, 18, Canada This record leads me to believe that Wm and Margaret were not the parents of Dennison and Mary. Dennison indicates in his records that his father was from Ohio or Indiana. William is probably his uncle. If William is the father perhaps Margaret is not the mother and she is 2nd wife and her children listed first ? If you do not have a death record for Dennison it may have or should have the names of his parents on it if anyone in the family knew who they were when he died. 17 Oct 1850; Census Place: Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois; Roll: M432_127; Page: 71; Image: 146.
