She helped me over the phone with my family research on several occassions. I'd like to get a copy of her obituary if I may. I do offer my condolences to the family. I thought she was a very sweet lady and was very saddened when I heard she had passed. My fingers had a senior moment. Yes, Lavina J. Snider Neel was born Aug 08, 1817 in Georgia. She married Jesse Calhoun Neel (born in Newberry Dist.?, SC, July 5, 1806) in Tuscaloosa on Jan 3, 1833. My Ira Griffin Neal was born Sept 1835, the second child of Jesse & Lavina. He had 11 brothers and sisters, so 12 children all together. Ralph is a little settlement just southwest of the town of Tuscaloosa off of I-20. It is in the southwest corner of Tuscaloosa County. (At least that is where the Neel Family Cemetery is located... or I should say WAS located. A recent land owner took a bulldozer and shoved 6' stone monuments off the hill and down into a ravine, so the markers are gone. A local resident of Ralph showed us where it was and told us what happened. He said that the man went bankrupt and lost the land. Serves him right!!!! It had been raining heavily so I was not able to climb down the ravine to investigate. I never told Mrs. Elizabeth Neel here in Palestine. It would have broken her heart. Enjoyed your story. Happy Hunting :) Frances ----- Original Message ----- From: <DDCMMG@aol.com> To: <txanders@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 02, 2006 6:23 PM Subject: Re: [TXANDERS] Willingham Family in Anderson, TX > Haha Frances, > It feels great to know that someone else is going around and > around > with all of these names. Let me know if you are still interested and I will email dates I have. ------------------------------ Message: 4 Date: 3 Oct 2006 22:42:20 -0600 From: vabryden@charter.net Subject: Re: [TXANDERS] Birth records for Marlin siblings 1880's To: TXANDERS-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <MB09NzPZrIkyPzGNsok000048a3@MB09.myfamilysouth.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I do have dates of birth and death for all of Mary Olive's siblings ---except the day of March, 1886 for Christopher Columbus? I knew the first 3 kids were born before they went to Brown County, so was hoping there might be a written record in Anderson Co. I have been in touch with Fred Allen. My grandfather was Mary Olive's first child Elmer Delaney. My email is vabryden@charter.net I would love to hear from you.
