I am new to the list. I would like to correspond with anyone who has information on A. J. Phenix, who is on the 1850 and 1860 Anderson Co. census. I am especially interested in parents and siblings. Someone has told me he is a brother to my Preston K. Phenix - though I don't think so. I would like to correspond with someone who can prove or disprove this info. I will be happy to share my info on Preston Phenix and his family if someone is interested. Christine, Kaufman TX

You might want to contact Bill Selman <wselman@swbell.net> . He apparently has done a great deal of work on the Selman family which descends from Jeremiah Selman who fought at Kings Mountain during the American Revolution. Some of that family moved first to GA and then to here to Alabama, with some going on to Texas. I am currently assisting a gentleman with a membership application for the Sons of the American Revolution based on part of this line which stayed in Alabama. I will send you the 1920 census directly. I think you will find the Marion b. Ala. and Eliza b. Tex. Boston (Bastan) is John's parents. The Mack on the 1930 census is on the 1920 and I feel sure is John's brother. John and Mack both state father born Ala. and mother born Tex. The Samuel on the 1930 census should be John and Lettie's son, brother to your Marion. Maybe some of the names will sound familiar to your family. Good Luck
