    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XiB.2ACI/1624.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Lori, I usually make note at the beginning of a reply that I am not related. I may have failed to do so. I can not tell you if Sallie had any children with James Barr. The 1900 census notes how many children the wife had had in her "lifetime" at that point but it does not indicate by how many husbands. The record said that she had given birth to 4 children with 2 living in 1900. So I can't say if they were Barr children or Matthew's. According to the previous reply you had there was a 10 year span between the marriages. I can't imagine that a 10 yr marriage in that timeframe did not produce children. I guess one will never know as I did not find a James Barr in the 1880 record in Texas with children born in Texas. I am assuming that Joel Penry was an uncle. It will be a mystery as to why she was in his household in the 1860 record. Perhaps the parents left for Texas and sent for the children after they arrived ? It still does not explain why they were not found in the 1870 record .....they had to have been in the area somewhere. If you have to opportunity to find Sallie's grave you may find stones for the 2 little children who did not survive and if they are marked you will know if the were Barr's or Matthew's. Death and birth records were not recorded back then except for family Bibles. Good Luck....Paula
