Surnames: BRADSHAW, McNEELY, and HYATT Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XiB.2ACI/1633 Message Board Post: On the IGI records is a marriage for my gg uncle Phillip McNEELY to a Mrs. Caroline BRADSHAW on 3 Feb 1875 in Anderson County, Texas. I am looking for information as to which BRADSHAW that Caroline was married to prior to Phillip McNEELY. I would love to find Caroline's maiden name. She is found on the 1880 Wise County, Texas census listed as a widow and a boarder with the F. M. HYATT family. From that census, Caroline was born about 1851 in MS. Listed next to the HYATT family on this census is Phillip's uncle, Thomas G. McNEELY and his family. While the name appears to be HYATT on this census, it might be WYATT or MYATT. Any information would be helpful and appreciated! Sheryl McNeely Shaw

He then sold out his business, and located on a farm six miles east of Parsons. After living on this farm for six years, he bought his present farm, - the east half of the northwest quarter of section 1. There he has resided ever since, engaged in general farming. Being a thrifty and energetic worker, he has made many improvements on the farm, and has been very successful with his crops and stock. Mr. Wheat was married, in 1884, by the Hon. Nelson Case, to Eva L. Bronson. She was born in Laporte, Indiana, and is a daughter of Denison and Dora (Martin) Bronson. I have felt like the long Ranger doing research on the RICHARDS. My grandfather was Thomas Campbell Griffin and his brother Marion Sheppard GRIFFIN was married to DOROTHY RICHARDS. His older brother IRA GRIFFIN was married to VEINE RICHARDS. I am just finding out there is a connection with the TAYLOR family. Now , this is where I found my GRIFFIN family connected to the RICHARDS. They both married into the WILLINGHAM FAMILY. JOHN WILLINGHAM's daughters lived in Fayette Co., Al. and Tuscaloosa Co., Al. I am the 5th generation of ROANNA WILLINGHAM and GEORGE A. ROBERTSON. They moved from Fayette Co., Al between l850 and l860. Eliza Willingham married into the Richards family. In fact I find Nancy and her brother living with Roanna and George after the civil war. I am in the process of moving and have moved some of my information and am trying to recall by memory, so please understand. My greatgrandmother AMANDA FRANCES COOK married MICHAEL GRIFFIN. Amanda was the daughter of Roanna and George A. Robertson. Her sister married into the MORAN FAMILY. We visited in Frankston during the late 50's and early 60's. We have the Saunders connection and a Sanders connection. I have been trying to find the GREEN CONNECTION. Did you know the Eliza's sister married into the FREEMAN family? Eliza's brother and sister married into the POE family. Would love to add more information, but this has already become a lengthy reply. My email address is ddcmmg@aol.com. and I live in Conroe, Tx. I try and go to Palestine and Frankston at least 4 times a year to do research and attend a Campbell and Cook reunion. Janie Davis has started a workshop in the fall . She is related to Elizabeth Willingham and Daniel Cook. It has been a great source of information, but even more fun connecting with family from long ago. I wonder would they have every guessed that their greatgreatgreatgrandchildren would have met each other. What a thought!!! It is interesting to also learn of the sacrifies made by those who went before us. Sandra

At the home of his son, M. C. Cole, in the Tundra community, 10:30 a. m. Jan. 5, 1914, this old veteran breathed his last on earth. He said that he was ready to go and that all was peace with him. As one falling into a natural slumber, "Uncle" Nick" fell asleep, only to awake on the resurrection morn. The body was laid to rest in what is known as the Carter cemetery, beside a companion who preceded him to the tomb exactly 22 years to a day. Revs. R. T. Shinn and V. L. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil war, a member of the Congregational church and in younger days a first class farmer and useful citizen. My Roanna WILLINGHAM, MY THIIRD greatgrandmother, was one of John's daughters that moved to Anderson Co., Texas before l860. She was married to GEORGE A ROBERTSON in Tuscaloosa Co., Al. in l838. I am trying to research the OLDHAM line right now to try and connect some ROBERTSONS. I have been unable to find GEORGE'S family of origin. He was b. in Ga. in l813, but I do not know if his family was living there or passing thru. There are several OLDHAMS married to ROBERTSONS. By the way, Martha WILLINGHAM was married to TROY GRIFFIN, son of JOHN GRIFFIN . Martha and Troy were bn. in Columbia co. Ga. around Evans and Augusta. They married and moved to Tuscaloosa Co., Al. The n.w. corner of Tus. Co., Al. became Fayette Co., Al. Troy and Martha's daughter, Martha A . Griffin married a WILLIAM A. COLE . Martha A. Griffin Cole passed away in l890 in Meridan, Miss. JOHN WILLINGHAM's children married into the Poe, FREEMAN, COOK, SLAUGHTER, RICHARDS AND ROBERTSON families. I know there is a connection with the MOON, SHACKELFORD, CASH. 3. Regular Meeting of East Texas Genealogical Society, Tyler, TX Saturday, April 8, 2006 Tyler Public Library - Taylor Auditorium 2:00 p.m. Speaker: Deborah Tiption Kunze Program: "Quaker Research" Our April speaker, Deborah Tipton Kunze, will provide an overview about the formation and history of the Quaker movement, the people and their families, how and where they lived, and their customs and beliefs. Debbie will show us the Quaker migrations in the United States. She will also explain how to use Quaker records to trace a family, even from Ireland to the United States. A native Texan, Debbie grew up in Fort Worth and Abilene. After graduating from Abilene High School, she returned to the Tarrant County area and has lived there ever since. She has one daughter, who is currently in graduate school. Debbie has worked with the federal government over twenty-seven years. As a student of family history, her genealogy career began almost that long ago. Her Texas roots date back to early 1830s with William Stiles, who came to Texas with Austin's Old Three Hundred and lived in current Fort Bend County. Along with her office as president of the Texas State Genealogical Society Debbie is also the District 10 Representative. She is the editor for the Tipton Family Association of America newsletter. In past years, Debbie has served as vice president and projects director for Mid Cities Genealogical Society, where she is the current publicity chair. You are fortunate if you find you have Quaker ancestors who belonged to the Society of Friends, because they were committed to careful record keeping. If you want to find out more about your Quaker roots, come learn with us. Our program speaker, Debbie Kunze, may give you insight and a giant step forward in your quest for Quaker resources and genealogical records! Following a short refreshment period, at approximately 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., the Computer Interest Group of the East Texas Genealogical Society will meet. Beverly Bailey Odom will lead a roundtable discussion on "Photographing Tombstones". Information on upcoming programs can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txetgs/meetings.html East Texas Genealogical Society represent six counties which are Anderson, Gregg, Henderson, Panola, Rusk and Smith counties.
