    1. [TXANDERS] Searching for MORGAN
    2. I am looking for the Tom and Henrietta Hopkins MORGAN family. I have a copy of her death certificate. She was born 17 Feb. 1873 in Mississippi and died 12 May 1928. It states that she was buried in East Hill Cemetery. I failed to find her listed there in the list on FindAGrave. Could be she has no marker. I am trying to find out if her husband is buried by her or not. I have not been able to locate his death cert. Her death cert shows her address as 420 Fulton St. However, the informant, W. T. Morgan gives his address as 609 Fulton St. The undertaker is listed as Bailey -- (Unable to read). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Maud Hopkins Cain

Warren George, son of Warren George, Palestine. Graduated from Palestine H.S., attended Texas A&M and Sam Houston College. Entered the Army Air Corps in November, 1941. Trained in Texas. Went overseas, served in the European Theatre. Received DFC, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart. Killed in action April, 1943 in Bremen, Germany." A source for this information is not given nor is the book dated. However, these books were very popular in the years following WWII. An effort was made to include every person who served from each county.

    3. The Campbell Family Cemetery is ~5 1/2 miles south of Palestine on Hiway 19 (The Elkhart Highway). You cannot see it from the highway. There is a green sign on the side of the road--I think the west side of the road--with an arrow pointing to a road up over the hill to the east. The road curves around a bit and the Campbell Cemetery is just a short distance up the hill with a historical marker at the entrance. (The story is that the hill was too rocky for farming, so an acre was given for the cemetery.) There are 23 graves. A list of those persons buried there can be found at http://members.aol.com/daisymaepet/CAMPBELLcem.html or http://www.rootsweb.com/%7eusgenweb/tx/anderson/cemetery.htm Linda M Sykes ----- Original Message ----- From: <abs51118@aol.com> To: <TXANDERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 26, 2006 4:07 PM Subject: [[TXANDERS]] Re: [[TXANDERS]] Marriage Look-up 1920-21 > Hello, > I have looked for the Campbell Cemetery twice without any luck. 3. Go to www.topozone.com and type in Campbell Cemetery, TX and it will give you quite a few. The first one is Anderson Co. Click on it and it will show you where it is. It is just off Hwy 19 south of Palestine. You can zoom in and out by using the scale to the left of the map.
