    2. Is this the same Louisa Hurbough, born in 1820 in Indiana? If so, I have her as being married to Daniel F. Sherwood, George Washington Hanks, Sr. and William Lightfoot, but never to Buchanan Brooks. This Louisa was my great-great-great grandmother. She was the daughter of Solomon Hurbough and Eva Baltus. Solomon's father was Peter Herbaugh. If you have any additional information on this family, please let me know. This is a very "narrow" line going back to Indiana and no other Louises or Louisas that I can find. My job every morning was to go down the hill and "fetch the paper". Our paper carrier bought berries from us every spring. Barter system in action. We picked enough berries to trade for the paper for the year. We had our daily paper and his family had blackberry cobbler and blackberry jelly and preserves. My daddy and I walked the six miles into town to see the circus courtesy free coupons in the paper. Then we walked home again. A lot easier than the walk up Bowden Mountain going in. During the depression we all walked. It was 2 and 8 tenths mile from our mail box to Lone Pine School so that was another daily walk during school term. You had to live 3 miles from school before you could ride the bus. The distance from the house to the road did not count. I enjoyed the visit to the paper's site.
