Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XiB.2ACI/1286 Message Board Post: I would like any additional information about two adjacent families in the 1860 Census in Palestine, Anderson Co., TX. The online image is a bit difficult to read, but, Beat No. 3, p. 12, Palestine (image OO21b) shows the following (I think): Family #88: Tho. Cuthbertson, 30, M, born TN Angelina " , 28, F, born TX Thomas " , 2, M, born TX Family #89: Geo. T. Allen, 68?, M, born VA M. A?. T. " , 30, F, born MS Elizabeth ", 19, F, born MS Family tradition says that Dr. George T. Allen m. Anne Elizabeth Conly and had 4 children (Angeline, Mary, Elizabeth, and Monetcue Cuthbert Allen), and that he traveled back and forth between MS and TX (Palestine) between about 1830 and the Civil War, before being buried in LA at a relative's location. In addition, tradition states that George's daughter, Angeline, married an UNKNOWN Cuthbertson. I would like ANY possible information on these two adjacent families that anyone might have, esp. if someone has access to marriage records for the Cuthbertson family, or if there are extant deeds or land grants that might establish a previous location. I do not see either of these families in the online 1850 Census in Anderson Co., and do not have access to later TX censuses. Please reply, or send me an email! THANKS! Jim Strain [email protected]
