Does anyone have any information on the De Long family that lived in Frankston? According to the 1920 & 1930 Census David E. DeLong was the manager of the cotton gin there. His wife was Ruby Meriwether DeLong and they had a daughter Gladys. Ruby's sister Beatrice Meriwether lived in Neches and died in a nursing home in Palestine. When Beatrice died a great nephew Jack Pickard was the informant on her death certificate........Gladys DeLong was possibly married to a Pickard? If you know of this family please contact me. Thanks. Beth M.
Hello List- I am seeking someones help, that lives in or near Palestine, to go to the court house and check names on the death iindex. I have 2 names a John W Michener and a Helen, or Hullen. I would like to have believed they may have died in Anderson County. I think they could have died between 1910-1930.. I would love a index death lookup. and if possible locate death information. This couple, had 4 boys, Olney, Roy, Russell, and Lee. family story may be that John Contacted TB and died, leaving the 4 boys with his wife Helen, Helens brother Elton was close and was said to have taken the boys under his wing, after his sister Helen died. Helen or hullens maiden name was Saunders and both she and her husband John came from Batavia, Boone County Ark. If you can help me with this request, let me know off list. Thanks, Melodee Slaney [email protected]

Melodee, The Anderson County, Texas courthouse at Palestine has an index of death records from 1903 - 2002. I was just there recently and copied some of the records. They contain name, whether male or female, certificate # (if available), book #, page # and date of death. You will find Birth records from 1/1/1875 to 12/31/2001: male or female, name Volume #, page # and date of birth. They will tell you how to look at who the parents were; so you are sure you have the right person. I don't know how complete the birth records are that far back. I found all the ones I was looking for though. The Cemetery Index gives name, date of birth, date of death and which cemetery the individual is buried in. Hope this helps, Iva Jean Douthit Welborn

I was just looking through my old emails and came across your search for Owen Chippendale. I'm pretty good at searching out people, but this guy must have only lived in Anderson County Texas for that one census year and then vanished! Can't find anything in England either. You have a job on your hands with this one! I did find the following, which may not help at all, but thought I would pass it on: LIVE OAK CEMETERY, MONROVIA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Chippendale, Emma M.H Died May 13, 1918 Chippendale, Richard 1804 - 1893 Bradford, Eng. Freeman -b.1826 and married to Palatine Chappell- b.1829...both born in AL. They had moved to Texas and i've found good info. on all of the Freeman's and other family and friends who also moved there through general genealogy research, the Census Records, individual state archives, and etc. I've also noticed that some have other people as the family of John Freeman and Susannah Baker, mostly wrong info,. on the Freeman side ( I think they're mixing up two families). I've also made notations of your ancestor, but it would be fun to share our info. and see what happens! Let me know if you'd like to share via e-mail or snail mail. God bless and enjoy the summer!
