J. BAULARD Article Text: Galveston, Tes., Oct 3.--Mr. V. J. BAULARD who had been absent in France for several months in search of health, and who returned Saturday, died at 11:45 yesterday morning. While his relatives and friends considered his condition as serious, none of them thought that he was in immediate danger. Mr BAULARD was born at Besancon, France, and came to Galveston in 1843 when a youth of 10 years, and had made his home here ever since. He learned the painting trade and for a great many years had been a member of the firm of Rice, Baulard & Co. Mr. BAULARD was an active member of the old volunteer fire department, the Galveston artillery company, the French benevolent society and a number of other organizations. He leaves a widow, three married daughters, Mrs. Frank LEIEHEIZER of Dallas, Mrs. Louis J. TOFFLEY of Houston and Mrs. Edward J. BORELLY of Galveston, a daughter abut half grown and two sons. He was a man of generous impulses and a good citizen,and leaves many friends to regret his death.
