TAFT Article Text: Houston, Tex., April 13.--Mr. Lovett A. TAFT died at his home in this city at 8 o'clock this morning, aged 29 years. The disease which terminated his life was consumption, which showed itself several years ago and which had confined him to his room for about six months. There was probably no young man in Houston better known or more generally popular than the deceased. Possessing amiable and winning manners he made friends of all he met and retained them. He was for many years the assistant of Mr. G. W. KIDD at the cotton exchange and board of trade, and had been a member of the prize team of the Houston light guard, and it is not an exaggeration to say that he was as well loved by the stern business men who congregate at the temple of business as by his comrades who engaged with him in the struggles of mimic warfare. Deceased was born and raised here, and leaves several brothers and sisters and a fond mother to mourn his untimely demise. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ TX-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
