She had been sick for some weeks with typhoid fever and clung tenaciously to life against the sad forebodings of her friends and physicians until to-day, when her spirit fled to the God who gave it. Her brother came here a few days ago and has been by her bedside ever since. Her parents in New Haven have been advised by wire of her sad and untimely demise. Her husband and friends here have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. Her remains were taken to New Haven, Conn., for interment in the burying ground of her relatives. JONES Article Text: Edna, Tex., Dec. 14.--Thursday morning, Dec. 13, this entire community was very much pained and sorrow was expressed by every one at the untimely death of Thomas T. JONES, first assistant teacher in the Edna high school. The deceased came to Texas one year ago from his home in Dinwiddie county, Virginia, where his parents reside. During the year 1887 he graduated with honors from the Hampden and Sydney college, Virginia. In the past ten days which he has been confined to his room he had the best medical care and careful attention, but the arrow had been sped on it fatal mission and it fell on a bright and shining mark. To his aged parents, brothers and sisters in far-off Virginia this entire community tenders sincere condolence. The teachers and pupils of the Edna high school will attend the funeral services to-morrow.
