The deceased never recovered consciousness after he was hurt. He was a member of Lincoln Lodge, No. 35, Ancient Order of United Workmen, located here. The remains were to-day taken to Courtney, Grimes County, his late residence, for interment. The lodge will attend the funeral tomorrow. A large number of railroad men, friends of the deceased, will also attend. SCRUGGS, wife of Mr. Jesse SCRUGGS, our esteemed county treasurer, which occurred last night. The funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church this afternoon, of which she was a member. The house was filled to overflowing by her many friends and relatives. After the services were over the remains were conveyed to the graveyard and interred. It commenced raining, but the majority in attendance attended the last sad rites. Deceased was a good Christian lady and devout member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. She was 66 years old. She died without a struggle.
