The church service and fraternal rites were solemn and impressive. Early this morning he arose with the intention of going to business, but finding it was only 6 o'clock decided to return to bed and rest awhile longer, especially as he said he was not feeling well. In getting into bed he was seized with a paralytic stroke which caused his death shortly after. The deceased was about 50 years of age, and was a native of Rhein, Bavaria. He came to this country early in life, first locating in Gonzales as a rancher.
