Hi Jayna, > I just recently got the FTM 2005. I haven't yet had lots of time to play > with it.........I still also have my Generations Liberty Addition (from > Heritage Quest). I do know that it lets you know IF there is something > out there on the internet to look at.......BUT, more often than not it is > at ANCESTRY.COM and it is locked....so it is of little use for me until I > get off of my cheap butt and pay for ancestry!! LOL! Yeah, you will find just about *anything* you want to do with FTM also points you to Ancestry.com. <sigh> In fact, Ancestry.com is now giving out free copies of FTM with subscriptions to Ancestry, so what's THAT tell ya!? :( I really *don't* like the FTM 2005, but adore FTM V11. I don't like the merge function of FTM2005. Now, when you merge two records with identical data, instead of merging the fields, it duplicates them. :( That means I'll have a LOT of work to do going through all my data and deleting the duplicates I don't want. <sigh> At least in it's favor though, it *does* show the duplicated in Family group sheet view, and I can delete them from there. > I am curious....I am reading a book on Genograms.....and there is a > program that does these called GenoPro....have you heard anything about > it? I'm curious. They have a free down load..............but I am such > the Non-geek, I am afraid to do it.....nor am I sure I could unless my > other half is here to help (he's the geek!! thank goodness I have an IT > guy here at my disposal........but he is not a genealogy nut....so he is > of little help on that plane!) Have you heard of this? Curious..... I hadn't heard anything about GenoPro until you mentioned it. I just went to their web site and downloaded both the current version and the beta version. If I get a chance, I'll try to check it out for you, but it won't be until at least Monday or later. I need to get the newsletter done first! <g> Maybe someone else on the list might know something about it. Cheers, Phil
