Besides the usual general meeting on the fourth Monday of the month and all the special interest groups meeting there are the following: 16 June - Salt Lake City Research Trip Preparation Workshop, registration needs to be postmarked by 8 June. Registration form is at: http://www.dallasgenealogy.org/education/slcReservation.pdf You do not have to plan on going with the group to Salt Lake City for its research trip, you can go on your own. Many of the items covered will be useful in doing research in other places as well. You do not have to attend this workshop in order to participate in the trip. The Salt Lake City Research trip is scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City on the 21st of October and return on the 28th That registration is due by 1 July and the above registration form is used for the trip as well. 23-24 June - Lock-in, this is where we gather from 6 p.m. up to 2 a.m. to research, have a light supper and lots of fun along with the research. Registration form is at: http://www.dallasgenealogy.org/fundraising/lockin2.PDF It needs to be postmarked by the 17th of June. Last, but certainly not least is the Summer Institute. The dates are 26-29 July. The title this year is "Call of the Land". Our speakers will be Lloyd deWitt Bockstruck, Christine Rose, and Mary McCampbell Bell. Registration needs to be post marked by 7 July. Boy, would I like to go to the "Call of the Land" to hear Bockstruck, and particularly Christine Rose and Mary McCampbell Bell!!! I have NGS tapes of the last two - and they are the cream of the crop in my opinion!! Marvelous, knowledgeable speakers! Wow, this should be great. Unfortunately I will be in Florida to attend my nephew's Naval Retirement Celebration. Darn, I hate to miss this! Thanks.
