The Gregg County Genealogy Society will meet Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in the Moeschle Room of the Longview Public Library. Personal genealogical sharing and visiting among members begins at 6:30 PM with the business meeting and program at 7:00 PM. Visitors are always welcome. Program: David Stroud will be talking about the Civil War. David is a History Instructor at Kilgore College. He is a former drill instructor at Parris Island, South Carolina and served in Vietnam. He earned his B.S. and M. A. degrees in history at Stephen F. Austin State University. He has written nearly a dozen books. One of the last books was about General Ector, Confederate General from Marshall, Texas. He is a popular and interesting speaker. We are in for a rich treat.
