    3. Sherry, I have done a lot of research on some of the East Texas Walker's - did any of yours come from the Greenville Co. SC - DeKalb Co. GA area - to Randolph Co. Al - to Hopkins, Upshur or Titus Cos. TX? A large group of Walker's came to the East Texas area in 1847, when 31 new counties were created in Texas, and opened up for settlement by offering pre-emption land that was being parceled out by the State.
