    3. More of an answer than probably anyone wants .. Just for general information, Miller Co AR claimed the TX counties of Bowie, Red River, Lamar, Fannin, Cass, Morris, Titus, Franklin, Hopkins, Delta, and Hunt - and also some of OK Another example is Greer Co OK & TX. On February 8, 1860, the Texas legislature passed an act providing for the formation of Greer County. Two errors on the Melish map created a stir between TX and the US --- interesting story in between but Greer County thus became a territory of the United States and, in 1906, part of Oklahoma. For Texas, try The Handbook of Texas Online at http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/ Lots of good books, but two that I find especially useful are Gournay, Luke. Texas Boundaries, Evolution of the State's Counties (College Station: Texas A&M University Press, 1995). Pool, William C. with maps by Edward Triggs and Lance Wren. A Historical Atlas of Texas (Austin: The Encino Press,1975). When doing census records you really need to research the boundaries of the time period. Just a few examples: 1790 District of Columbia with Maryland; 1800 with Delaware 1805-1812 Missouri - Louisiana Territory 1820 & 1830 Wisconsin .. see Michigan 1850 & 1860 Arizona .. New Mexico Territory 1860 Colorado .. see Kansas 1860 Oklahoma .. see Arkansas (Indian Lands) 1860 Wyoming & Montana . see Nebraska ** Wyoming also with the "unorganized territory" listing; Missoula Co MT w/Spokane Co WA census 1860 Nevada . see Utah 1885 Territories of the Dakota, Florida, Nebraska, and New Mexico (includes the present day state of Arizona) Trevia Wooster Beverly Houston, Texas

    3. I do appreciate the feedback on the boundaries...there are interesting stories there. However, my question is really just about the settlement of Millersburg about which I find nothing at all.
