Pennsylvania researchers have started a grassroots campaign to get their state death certificates made available. Please pass this on to your members and anyone you know who is into Pennsylvania genealogy and history research. If you write a letter of support to Governor Rendell please send a copy of the letter so they can keep track of the endorsements (via email to timarg@rcn.com would be fine). Although they try not to control what anyone writes they are more than willing to assist in any way they can. You could mention how well the death certificate database has worked in Texas and without any problems and that it includes records up to 1976. The website has sample letters as well as contact information for the governor and other state legislators in Pennsylvania.
