    3. Walter, The only death certificates that will be on this file are those that were sent to Austin by the county. Many counties didn't send the certificates to Austin until the 1930's. Some didn't record many of the deaths. Is this an indexing issue on a beta data-set, or was there a major loss of records sometime before the data was microfilmed? I managed to find certificates for my maternal grandfather, one of his brothers and his sister, his wife and her parents. It was the first good evidence that Lillias Elvira Usry, wife of John Oatus Green, was his sister and my great-aunt. Thanks to all who made the data available and those who told you and me about the web site. About all I have left of my ancestors who were considerate enough to die in Texas is my paternal great-grandfather, Solomon Usry, said to have died in Smith County 10 June 1892 (or perhaps 6 October 1892). He was born in GA in 1854. I believe he had a son John that died about the same time and place. I have not found any evidence of either death. Could I interest anyone in looking in newspaper archives for any mention of him?
