In regard to the Holts: my husband's family are from Tennessee....in the Lawrenceburg area, and Pulaski, and Columbia ....so, not sure how many migrated to Texas, since my husband moved here to work for NASA, and his family was all in Tennessee.... I am native Texas with surnames in my family of Parker, Childress, Griffin, Huckleby; Thornton's and Dean's of Alabama; the Parker's and Griffins came to Houston, Harris County, coming from England; and the Huckleby's and Childress's from Madison Co, Mexia, Navasota, and other central Texas areas....The Childress family coming from South Carolina I believe originally, by way of Alabama, and Mississippi to Texas....
