Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the first session scheduled for 9:00 a.m. All of the sessions are free, and pre-registration is not required. Rich Kinnunen, Assistant Family History Director for the Carrollton Texas Family History Center, will be the keynote speaker. Mr. Kinnunen has been tracking down his ancestors for over twenty years. Although they did not arrive in the United States until 1865, his ancestors were living in Quebec, Canada as early as 1620. His ancestor lines reach back to Canada, England, France, Holland, Germany, and the United States. Mr. Kinnunen has taught genealogy workshops throughout North Texas the past ten years. The seminar will include three morning sessions beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 12:45 p.m. Immediately following the third session, a free lunch will be served. The three training sessions will include: Microsoft Photo Story 3 for Windows XP. Learn to create slideshows using your digital photos. With a single click, you can touch-up, crop, or rotate pictures. Add stunning special effects, sound tracts, and your own voice narration to your photo stories in an e-mail. Then personalize them with titles and captions. Small file sizes make it easy to send your photo stories in an e-mail, and you can watch them on your TV, a computer, or a Windows Mobile-based portable device. This is a FREE program from Microsoft. Grilling Granny. The second session covers the basics of getting started with your Family History. How to interview family members and to record the data will be discussed. Other topics include discussion of Pedigree Charts, Family Group Sheets, Family History Software, and Internet Genealogy. The Paperless Genealogist. The technology available today will be explored as well as how it can help the genealogist record his family history. The best methods of preserving an individual’s family history will be identified – and the conclusions may surprise you! The Family History Fair including lunch is free and open to the public. For questions, please contact: Beverly Odom (903)723-0576, Sam Kidd (903)839-8483, or June Everheart (903)-877-4501. 3. I don't know how he plans to do the sessions. According to the flyer that we sent out it is the last one, but don't know if he will go in that order or not.
