Good advise Janise. Last yeaer qwe drove to Rockdale and spent two days there searching through old cemeteries hunting my father's birth mother. Her maiden name was "Newman." I looked in the phone book and found a Newman. When Nancy and I drove over to her home she was just driving up with her daughter. She invited us in. When I told her what I was doing in Rockdale (east of Georgetown area) ahe said, "I wish you had been here about two months ago. A nephew that was in the service brought me two large boxes. He said, "this is the history of your ancestory." He did genealogy for years. She told me she got tired of looking at the two boxes and put them out for the trash men to pick up. I told her I bet her nephew was turning over in his grave right now. He was sick and dying. That was the reason he took the boxes to his aunt. What a shame that someone didn't tell her to take that information to the library. If you find no where to put it, send it for the "Vertical Files" to your favorite library - maybe the one where most of the Adams families lived. I've done that before - just so I would not have to trash it, after all that work. Obviously, there are future researchers who will welcome your material. They also have great vertical files at Tyler Public Library and at Dallas Public Library. Put it in manila folders with a label. They have many that way, and they file it under the "A's" at Dallas.
